Barbara Medlock-Murray

Barbara Medlock-Murray was employed at United States Alliance (formerly Rockwell International) for 33 ½ years.  While employed, she worked in the Configuration Management Office (CMO) for 19 years and the Service and User Support Office (SUSO) for 14 ½ years.

In CMO, Ms. Medlock-Murray tracked the components of the systems. engineering process that established and maintained consistency of NASA Shuttle product’s performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its life cycle.

In SUSO, Ms. Medlock-Murray served in a support role in assisting in the preparation and analysis of contracts.  She worked closely with all areas of upper management, accounting departments, finance departments, as well as outside vendors.  Ms. Medlock-Murray priced negotiations: created purchase requisitions (PRs); balanced monthly bank statement for all software, licenses and maintenance purchases, tracked and maintained software, licenses, and maintenance contracts and was involved in price dispute resolutions.

Ms. Medlock-Murray is a member of New Beginning Church in League City – where she is a member of Culinary Services, member of Church Program Committee, member of the Education Board, matron and secretary of the Youth Department (Kid’s Kingdom), Outreach Committee, and secretary and Activity Chairperson of the Young Women’s Ministry (Sisters with a Testimony – SWAT).

Ms. Medlock-Murray is an active supporter and dedicated member of the following organizations:  AIDS Foundation Houston, Alzheimer’s Disease Research, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, The Carter Center, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), DOCTORS Without Borders USA, Habitat for Humanity, Houston Food Bank, In Touch Ministries, Lupus Foundation, Make-A-Wish, March of Dimes, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, NAACP (past secretary), National Museum of Afro-American History and Culture (Charter member), Open Door Mission, Paralyzed Veterans of America, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Salvation Army, Smile Train, Socks for Veterans, Special Olympics Texas, Star of Hope Mission, Texas Children’s Hospital, Texas Lions Camp, Texas City-Mainland Lions Club (Vice-President), The United Services Organization (USO) and Wounded Warrior Project.

Ms. Medlock-Murray holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

Ms. Medlock-Murray is the mother of three sons (the eldest a 21-years retired Navy veteran).
